Hellebore
A pretty poison
“Hellebore” is part of an ongoing series on underestimation of the feminine in a time women’s rights are at risk of being stripped away. Flowers have been one of the longest standing symbols of femininity due to associations with beauty, fragility, and innocence. Each plant depicted in this series, while beautiful, is armed with its own deadly poison to dissuade any foolish enough to mishandle it. To further illustrate the point, a fabricated golden spider lurks within the neckpiece, referencing the tendency of female spiders to cannibalize the males they’ve mated with. My work in this series is trying to have a conversation about uncoupling and reclaiming the social parallel between femininity and the perception of powerlessness.

CARE
To prevent tarnish, keep in a dry, airtight container to prevent oxidation, ideally a jewelry box lined with anti-tarnish cloth, but a ziploc bag with an anti-tarnish tab (provided) works as well. Do not use a polishing cloth on the flowers as it will take off the patina finish. Do not use anything abrasive to clean jewelry as it will scratch the metal. RETURN & REFUND POLICY
Pieces may be returned in an unworn state for a refund within 30 days of receiving. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and any loss in value if the piece arrives in a damaged condition.
If there are any issues with an order please reach out to me so I can work with you to find a solution.
Custom orders are not eligible for return or exchange.
If a piece requires alteration for sizing or comfort I am happy to make that alteration for you, usually for free (not including shipping). Additionally, if a piece requires repair/ polishing over time please let me know and I'll take care of it with cost being determined on a case by case basis.
SHIPPING INFO
Orders are default sent via USPS. If you prefer a different carrier please leave a note specifying preferred carrier at checkout. Change of carriers may incur an additional shipping fee as estimates are for USPS.
Orders over $500 will require a signature for delivery for insurance purposes.
If you are local to the Ann Arbor/ Detroit, Michigan area you may select "Local Pickup" to pick up your purchase from my studio for no additional charge. Pickups are scheduled after purchase.
